A journey to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. We are working with them and the funds raised in this campaign will be donated to support research, education, and advocacy efforts, and provide people with the resources they need to fight diabetes. We believe in the power of research, and collaboration. The funds raised in this campaign will be matched, dollar by dollar, by my employer.
This is a journey of over 874 km (550 miles) from Irún to Santiago de Compostela. The roads go along the North Coast of Spain by the shore of the Cantabric Sea. It is split into 34 journeys of over 20 km (12.5 miles) daily with elevations of over 710 meters (2,300 ft.).
However, as this needs to be a challenge to achieve the purpose of doing something extraordinary, I have planned to walk an average distance of 42,2 km a day. This is the equivalent of walking a full marathon every day for 20 days.
Some of the funds will be used to support a few expenses like some gear (bottles, water, medical aid (if needed, and so forth).
Please help me out by donating here and I will keep you posted as the journey takes form, while on the Camino de Santiago, and finally at the destination. WE Fight diabetes TOGETHER!
