Day 6 of my layoff journey. 71,000 views and 1,500 subscribers later, it’s time for the real talk nobody gives you about Week 1.
After reading every single comment on my first video, I realized you fell into four groups:

- $200+ spent on packing supplies alone
- 10 network contacts reached out to → 3 responses received
- 6 months rent required upfront (because unemployed = unrentable)
- 0 current income to verify for rental applications
- 1 lunch meeting scheduled with a real connection
- 30 years of experience → doesn’t matter without current W-2
🔥 The Hard Truths:
- Every dollar you spend feels 10x heavier when unemployed
- Your “network” will show you who was there for your title vs. you
- Rental companies, credit systems, basic services – none are designed for unemployment
- You’ll face barriers you never imagined existed
- Adaptability isn’t optional – it’s survival
